Sandra Morris Illustration Agency: Lamia Aziz

Lamia gained a Diploma in Graphic Art (print making) in 1985 from the Institute of Fine Arts, Baghdad, Iraq and then worked as an illustrator for the Children's Cultural House in Iraq for 10 years . She then taught art for seven years at Ahliyya School for Girls in Amman, Jordan.

As well as illustrating many books, Lamia has also illustrated for television in Jordan and for projects for Unicef.

Lamia has exhibited internationally and in 2002 her work was selected for exhibition at the Bologna Childrens Book fair in Italy.

Lamia and her husband Samer Hatam immigrated to New Zealand from Iraq in 2003.
