Biography

Jamie moved to New Zealand in 2008, and lives in Auckland. An Illustration graduate of Loughborough University in the UK, he grew up in London and has been an avid drawer since childhood. From an early interest in comics and fantasy illustration, since graduation his style has developed into producing loose and largely figurative work, sometimes from reportage, often purely from imagination. He enjoys capturing subtle aspects of human interaction, gesture and emotion.

Jamie often creates pieces using pen and ink. He likes to place strong emphasise on mark making, and enabling the viewer to see how the image is constructed. He also adds colour to his work using a range of mediums, including paint, water colour & digital media. He is comfortable producing anything from simple bold images to complex and realistic scenes and characters.
Jamie also has an interest in storyboarding and is looking forward to the opportunity of working in this field as well as illustration
