Biography Lawton loves the challenge of illustration, from the initial sketch, character design and compositional studies, through to its final resolution. Lawton is a recent graduate of Massey University’s Bachelor of Design course, where he received honours in Illustration. His studies consisted mainly of illustration and film. He now dreams of combining both passions by working as a concept artist in the entertainment industries, along with illustrating books for children, teens, and geeks alike. After a lifetime of drawing, Lawton has recently embraced the digital realm, finding it the perfect counterpart to his style and working process. While still wanting to achieve the qualities of hand rendered work, using a digital medium enables him more room to be creative and to experiment. |
