Biography Scott Tulloch was born in Wellington in 1966, but now resides in the Wairarapa which enables him to keep pigs. He illustrates in a variety of styles and mediums, from highly realistic wildlife in watercolour to wacky pen and ink cartoons. Scott began drawing at a very young age and initially aspired to become a cartoonist before being sidetracked by the following events;
En-route back to New Zealand Scott detoured to undertake a four month outback trip around Australia, during which time his interest in art once again flourished. This led him to establish his own art and illustration business, “Whitsunday Watercolours”, in tropical North Queensland. Notable amongst his many commissions were his murals of tropical reef and mangrove environments for the Queensland Dept of Environment and Heritage. In 1997 Scott returned to New Zealand to take up position as Artist in Residence at the Hermitage, Mount Cook, in the central South Island. In 1999 he established his own art gallery, The Martinborough Gallery and Studio, in the country town of Martinborough where he now resides. Scott has successfully published many of his artworks as fine art prints and cards, including his very popular cartoon series, “A Vineyard Year at the Frolicking Pig Estate”, which has been distributed throughout New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the USA and Canada. Though largely self-taught, Scott devoted the year of 2004 to studying Illustration at the Massey College of Design, Fine Arts and Music. |
