Biography

Reuben was born in Central Otago. Since then he has lived in numerous towns and cities across New Zealand. As a child he spent his days playing in his parents pottery - this creative environment fostered a passion for creating.

Reuben attended the Natcoll in Wellington in 2009 and 2010 earning a diploma in Digital Video and Animation Production, and a diploma in Advanced Animation. Throughout these course's Reuben specialized in the production of 3D characters for animation. Reuben also won the 2010 Natcoll Thumb-Nailed speed illustration contest, receiving a number of prizes from Wacom and Adobe.

Reuben uses acrylic paint, pencil, ink, spray paint, water colour, stencils, PhotoShop AfterEffects and Maya to create his art.

Reuben takes influence from the old fairy tales, Mythology, Japanese prints, religious illustration, comic books and Victorian art.
